Erica Burrell is an author, illustrator, and special education advocate from San Francisco, CA.  After many years of teaching in public schools, she realized school curriculum was lacking diversity and positive representation of people of color.

This is the inspiration for all of her children's books. She writes for groups that are underrepresented or misrepresented. Being both a reading specialist and avid book lover Erica has read thousands of children's books. Many did not represent the groups she served so Erica learned to illustrate and started creating books to change that. In addition, Erica believes not every story is hers to tell alone and has collaborated with Araceli Leon to create "What Would The World Be Without Latinos?" and interviewed 20+ people before creating "More Than a Wheelchair" which is about differences & disabilities.

All books are hardcover 8.5 by 11 with a glossy finish and great quality. Her first book was released in February 2020 and she is finalizing the 5th!
