Pay It Forward

The Problem: 61% Of children in low-income communities do not own a single book- US Department of Ed.

"I have been a special education teacher and reading specialist for 12 years. Imagine the difficulty of trying to teach a child to read who has no books at home -  then, books available to them in school do not spark their interest nor represent who they are. It makes a difficult job that much more difficult." - Mrs. Burrell

THE GOAL: Donate 100,000 Diverse Books To Children In Low-Income Communities

How It Works
Step 1...

The students that deserve my books come from families that cannot always afford them. The #PayItForward program allows donors to buy books for those students.

Step 2...

I intentionally give books to children who are in need. This is done by way of community events, sponsoring classrooms, and giving books to children I come across who otherwise would not be able to have one. The experience is exciting and liberating for all involved.
